Gluten Free Traveling, whether for business or pleasure, can be intimidating at first as you leave your comfort zone at home.
When you travel there is never a 100% guarantee that the food you order will be gluten free or not cross contaminated.
Whether you're driving, flying or just gone for the day, things will go smoother and be so much easier if you plan ahead.
WHEN YOU TRAVEL:
-If you're going out of town check for local Support Groups in the area and contact then ahead of time.
-If you have an Android or iPhone download Gluten-Free Apps for locations of restaurants in the area that have Gluten Free Menu items.
-Always take Gluten-Free snacks with you. Fresh or dried fruit, GF granola bars, fresh veggies, nuts and cheese. Airplane flights are known for delays and cancellations and being prepared for delays or cancellations can prevent a lot of discomfort.
-Call ahead to restaurants and hotels and find out about their Gluten-free menu options.
-If you're at a business dinner or social function the safest thing to do is to order all your food with no sauce, croutons, breading, gravies or coating.
Order food that is as fresh and as close to its’ natural state as possible and you'll greatly limit the chances of accidentally ingesting gluten.
With just a little precautionary measures and planning your trip should be enjoyable without any problems.
